Everything you need to know before your henna — and how to get the deepest, longest-lasting stain.

How long does henna last?

Natural henna lasts about 1–3 weeks, depending on where it's placed and how you care for it. Hands and feet stain darkest and last longest; the color fades gently as your skin naturally exfoliates.

How do I care for it afterward?

Leave the paste on as long as you can — ideally 1–2 hours. Avoid water while it's on. Once it flakes off, the stain starts orange and darkens over 24–48 hours. Rub on a little coconut or olive oil before showering and avoid scrubbing the area.

Is the henna safe? What's in it?

I use 100% natural henna mixed fresh with ess and skin-safe jagua for a darker, near-black look. I never use "black henna" (PPD), which can harm skin. Patch tests available on request for sensitive skin.

How long does a design take?

A simple design takes about 5–10 minutes; a detailed full hand 20–45 minutes. For parties I plan timing so everyone gets their turn.

How far in advance should I book?

For parties and events, 1 – 2 weeks ahead is ideal. Last-minute? Just ask — I'll fit you in when I can. A small deposit holds your date.
